Flan castles!

Kim had the great idea of picking up strawberries, whipping cream and flans to make strawberry shortcake tonight.

We whipped up the cream with the hand blender, and layered the cake with cream and shaved semi-sweet chocolate. Then we lined them with strawberries (which were amazing – all small and juicy rather than big and bland) and plopped down more whipped cream and chocolate. So light and not overly sweet.

They were so good and silly easy to make. I predict we’ll be doing more of these this summer!
